Tony St John - BIOGRAPHY
North East tenor, Tony St John, started his singing
career at the age of twenty and studied in London with
Craig Barber and International tenor Dennis O’Neil,
completing his studies, both musical and vocal at the
Manchester College of Music.
He has starred in many leading roles in musicals and
opera and in 1985 performed with Placido Domingo in a
Covent Garden production of Tosca.
At home Tony has performed cabaret at prestigious venues
such as The Dorchester (London), The Savoy, The Royal
Lanchester and The London Hilton. Being a firm favourite
with the football clubs on match days he has sang at
Wembley Stadium, Leeds, Watford, and The Stadium of
Light to capacity crowds.
On the international front Tony has performed in Las
Vegas, New York, Italy, Paris, Spain and Denmark.
He has also perfomred on cruise ships for ‘My Travel’
which toured the Mediterranean.
Tony's previous clients include Safeway advertising the
Italian range of foods, Asda advertising Dolmio sauce,
also FIAT Reg Vardy cars and many more.
In his busy schedule, Tony also performs a Pavarotti
tribute, padding an extra few stone and singing operatic
arias and popular Italian songs.
He also lectures voice production in several North East
Colleges.
Tony has a huge repertoire of songs he performs in his
cabaret act varying from musical theatre, popular
ballads, swing and more. Available for private and
corporate entertainment.
Also Tony's voice is the perfect touch on those
occasions where the right sentiment is very important.
For example wedding ceremonies, christenings, funerals
and other such occasions. Fequently requested songs
include Ave Maria, the Lord's Prayer etc.
